Track Customer Return Frequency in Shopify by Using Arigato Automation

You can now import the ".arigato" workflow file you downloaded into the app.

  1. Open the Arigato Automation app in your Shopify admin.
  2. Visit the "Import & Export" page within the app.
  3. Scroll to bottom and upload your file to import the workflow.

This workflow fires when a refund is created. It updates a metafield value to track how many refunds the customer has initiated. If the customer has asked for 4 or more refunds, the automation flags the customer as "serial returner" as a tag on the customer. 

You may want to combine this with other automations such as creating a Trello card when a customer is flagged, or sending an email when they're flagged. Additionally, you could track the customer's IP address and automatically cancel orders from their IP address, or add the customer to a special spreadsheet in Google Sheets using some of our other pre-built workflows in our library.
